Envisioned as a country Crosby, Stills and Nash, BLACKHAWK, once they came together, the chemistry was perfect and immediate. So began a career highlighted by 10 Top Ten singles, five albums and sales in excess of 5,500,000 records. Although there have been numerous career highlights, Henry Paul and Dave Robbins can easily pick out their favorites. “For me, getting signed and having our first release become such a big hit (“Goodbye Says It All”) and then having our debut album sell 2 million copies exceeded all my expectations,” reminisces Paul. “As a new act, it couldn’t have been much better than that!” Robbins agrees, “Debuting with a multi-platinum album when our wildest dream was to sell a gold album was incredible. As I review the songs that are included on the album, I’m really proud of each and every one of them. I still can’t believe we’ve had enough hits to include on a ‘greatest hits’ package.”
On BlackHawk’s Greatest Hits Live, we hear they singular, defining vocal sound that is immediately recognizable as no one else but BlackHawk. It’s unmistakable. The music, the harmonies, the songwriting, the production – all creating the unique blend that radio embraced and fans loved. The hits are obviously here, but what BlackHawk conveys with this album is not just a retrospective. With one new song completing the package, it’s much more – a reaffirmation and a dedication to the next era of BlackHawk.
