Canned Heat was formed in the Los Angeles suburb of Topanga Canyon, where they were contemporaries of other up-and-coming rockers Spirit and Kaleidoscope. Bob “The Bear” Hite’s almost scholarly approach to the blues created a unique synthesis when blended with the rest of the band’s amplified rock ‘n’ roll. They were one of the few groups to play both the Monterey International Pop Festival and Woodstock. They scored hits with “On The Road Again” and “Going Up The Country”. Ten years after the historic Woodstock Festival of 1969, original Canned Heat members Bob “The Bear” Hite, Adolfo “Fido” De La Perra, and Larry “The Mole” Taylor got together with Hollywood Fats to record this amazing set.

This complete and authorized release of the historic Woodstock 10th Anniversary concert is a testament to the unique talent of Canned Heat. The CD version contains a studio bonus track, “Christmas Blues”.
